Vocal & Guitar Instructor – Full-Time / Part-Time

Further Music School – Manhattan & Queens, NY

Further Music School is seeking an experienced, versatile, and enthusiastic Vocal & Guitar Instructor to join our growing faculty.

We are especially interested in multi-instrumental musicians who can teach both voice and guitar and are comfortable performing and teaching across a variety of musical genres.

Responsibilities

Teach private voice and guitar lessons to children, teens, and adults
Teach students from beginner through advanced levels
Teach a variety of musical styles, including pop, rock, contemporary, jazz, musical theater, and other genres
Develop engaging, individualized lessons based on each student’s interests, goals, and experience
Prepare students for performances, recitals, auditions, and other musical opportunities
Potentially teach or coach Rock Band, contemporary music, and other ensemble/group programs
Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school administration
Provide lesson notes and practice guidance
Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment

Qualifications

Strong background in both voice and guitar
Ability to teach both voice and guitar is strongly preferred
Comfortable playing, performing, and teaching different genres of music
Strong contemporary musicianship and ability to work with different musical styles
Degree in music, music education, performance, or a related field preferred
Previous private or group teaching experience preferred
Experience with bands, ensembles, or live performance is a plus
Reliable, professional, patient, and comfortable working with students of different ages
Ability to maintain a consistent weekly teaching schedule
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Locations & Schedule

Further Music School operates multiple locations in Manhattan and Queens, including the Upper East Side, Lower Manhattan, and Forest Hills.

Candidates who are able to teach at multiple Further Music School locations are strongly preferred. Availability during weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends is especially helpful.

Both full-time and part-time opportunities may be available depending on experience, availability, and the ability to teach multiple instruments and locations.

Pay: $30.58 - $39.24 per hour
