Position Summary

Musicians Institute is seeking an accomplished vocal educator to join our faculty, with a primary focus on teaching graduate-level courses in the Master's program. The successful candidate will bring both advanced academic credentials and an active professional career, representing the standards of artistry and scholarship to which our graduate students aspire.

Typical Responsibilities:

Teach graduate-level vocal courses in the Master's program; assignments may also include undergraduate courses and private lessons
Provide individualized instruction, mentorship, and artistic guidance to vocal students across contemporary styles
Teach a wide range of musical performance styles
Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance
Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment in collaboration with the Vocal department and the Office of Academics
Participate in departmental meetings, juries, recitals, and student performance evaluations
Maintain an active professional presence as a performer, scholar, or practitioner in the field

Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in Voice, Vocal Performance, Vocal Pedagogy, Music Education, or a closely related field
Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the collegiate level, preferably including graduate instruction
Active engagement in the profession, including public performance, presentation, recording, or scholarship
Strong command of contemporary vocal styles and pedagogy
Excellent communication skills and the ability to guide student learning effectively

Preferred:

Professional performing or recording credits in contemporary music
Experience mentoring graduate students in applied voice, research, or capstone projects

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
