Worship Director

This position leads the people of our church by planning, and shepherding the church through Christ-exalting music, contextualized liturgy, and corporate prayer during Sunday morning services and worship events. Qualifications: \\- A love for Jesus and a growing relationship with him \\- A value for discerning God’s Spirit to lead the ministry \\- Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in Scripture \\- Understanding of and agreement with the mission, vision, values, and doctrinal statement of Oak City Church \\- Ability to discern and screen sound theology \\- Experience working and leading in a worship ministry \\- A cooperative team spirit and a positive attitude \\- Proven ability to recruit, train, lead, unify and retain volunteer leaders \\- Strong written and verbal communication skills \\- Humble commitment to continually learn, grow, and improve \\- Proven disciple- making and equipping skills \\- Cultural awareness of music scene in RDU \\- Ability to sing and play an instrument \\- Knowledge of liturgical elements of a worship service and ability to lead the congregation using those elements \\- Strong relational skills to contextualize the gospel \\- Commitment to excellence and attention to detail in the areas of music and liturgy \\- Ability to write, arrange, and record music Job Responsibilities: Planning & Executing Worship Gatherings & Events (50%) \\- Collaborative scheduling with other bandleaders to include Sunday services, Members’ nights, holidays, and other miscellaneous events. \\- Coordination with Chosen Generation on joint worship gatherings. \\- Plan and lead a weekly practice for volunteers. Craft Vision, Strategies and Operations for the Ministry (25%) \\- With the elders and pastors, set a clear vision for ministry.
