Worship Leader

Worship leader - Intersection worship service St. Luke United Methodist Church Job description: Play musical instrument(s), preferably including guitar or piano Ability to lead a worship team, including other musicians and singers Vocal ability Ability to develop chord charts, transpositions and transitions from song to song Work well with church employees and volunteers Ability to understand worship leadership as a ministry and engage in necessary pastoral activities Duties: Exhibit enthusiasm and creativity Maintain positive working relationship with other staff and ministry servants Exhibit Christian faith in action Weekly Pre-Sunday responsibilities: -Plan and organize "The Intersection" service alongside the Intersection band and pastor, including the development of an order of worship for each service. -Work with pastor and band to determine song selection with a variety of song types -Work with pastor to determine song selection in accordance with the service themes/series -Conduct weekly rehearsals with the worship team -Coordinate any drama or others specfic worship personnel to insure proper flow -Coordinate any necessary projections/media including lyrics for each song Sunday responsibilities: -Distribute order of service, song sheets, etc. to the worship team prior to service -Lead the worship service (not including the message) Recruit and empower other musicians/singers to join the Worship Team Help train sound technicians for 9am sound system volunteers Participate in annual review process Perform other takss as needed/directed, necessary to the operation of the church Attend monthly worship committee meetings Attend bimonthly staff meetings Reports to: Senior Pastor, Staff Parish Relations Committee Set office hours in conjunction with Pastor and SPRC Scheduled Practice time with worship team Sunday morning set up, worship, and break down
