What the Job Looks Like Teaching private guitar lessons in students' homes Working with beginner through intermediate students, both children and adults Teaching fundamentals such as chords, strumming, picking, rhythm, technique, and basic music theory Creating a positive, encouraging learning environment Assigning practice and communicating student progress through our scheduling app Being part of a supportive team of real working musicians What We Are Looking For Strong guitar skills and a solid musical foundation Previous experience teaching guitar or music lessons Ability to teach basic chords, rhythm, and popular songs in a clear and motivating way Reliable transportation and comfortable traveling locally Great communication skills with students and parents Friendly, professional, and dependable personality Ability to commit to a consistent weekly teaching schedule Nice to Have but Not Required Music degree or formal training Ability to teach multiple styles such as rock, pop, blues, metal, acoustic, or classical Experience teaching electric guitar, acoustic guitar, or bass guitar Interest in songwriting, music theory, improvisation, or modern teaching approaches What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Steady students provided with no self marketing required Flexible scheduling with daytime and afternoon availability In-home teaching with no studio overhead Administrative support, including scheduling, billing, and lesson materials A positive school culture that values teachers, musicians, and long-term growth About The Fine Tune Academy The Fine Tune Academy has been providing high-quality in-home music lessons across North County San Diego since 2003.
