California Music Academy | Los Angeles Area
California Music Academy is seeking talented, dependable music teachers to provide private lessons in students’ homes throughout Los Angeles and nearby communities.
This is a flexible, part-time teaching opportunity for active musicians who enjoy working with children and teenagers. Teachers choose the days, hours, and geographic areas they are willing to serve.
You will not be expected to travel throughout the entire Los Angeles area. We will match you with students near your home and within the communities you select.
Current teaching areas include:
West San Fernando Valley: Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Encino, Calabasas, Hidden Hills and nearby communities
Central and East San Fernando Valley: Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Northridge and Burbank
West Los Angeles: Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu and nearby areas
Central Los Angeles: Hollywood, Beverly Hills and surrounding communities
Other service areas: Pasadena and Santa Clarita
Please apply if you live in or near one or more of these areas and are willing to drive to students’ homes within a reasonable distance.
Instruments we are hiring for:
Piano and keyboard
Voice and singing
Guitar
Drums
Teachers who can teach more than one instrument, such as piano and voice, piano and guitar, or guitar and voice, are especially encouraged to apply.
What we offer:
Flexible teaching days and hours
Pay range: $45–$50 per hour
Students assigned near your home whenever possible
A consistent flow of new student inquiries
Administrative and instructional support
The opportunity to develop a long-term roster of students
An established, family-oriented music academy serving children since 2003
Ideal candidates:
Are active musicians with strong musical skills
Have experience teaching children and teenagers
Are patient, positive, encouraging and dependable
Can teach at least two days per week
Have reliable transportation and are comfortable driving to students’ homes
Can commit to teaching students consistently
Have formal music training or a music degree, preferred but not required
Can teach multiple instruments, preferred but not required
Most lessons are scheduled during weekday afternoons and evenings and on weekends.
