The Orchestra Assistant is a non-exempt, part-time employee who is a member of the SAA Staffulty team. This position reports to the Music Specialist & Orchestra Director. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Model and demonstrate Sinai Akiba’s Core Values of: Kehillah Kedoshah (Sacred Community); Talmud Torah (Academic Excellence); Derech Eretz (Kindness, Empathy, & Respect); Tzedek, Tzedek Tirdof (Ethical Responsibility); Avodat Halev (Soulful Intention), and Ahavat Yisrael (Love for Israel) as reflected on the School’s website at https://www.sinaiakiba.org/about/mission-and-valuesSet up rehearsal spaces (set up chairs, music stands, and unpack/tune instruments)Move chairs, stands, and musical instrumentsSupport students during instruction and performancesTake detailed attendance records for weekly rehearsalsCall/email parents if a student is absent from rehearsalMake copies of music, organize files, and assist with other general administrative dutiesActively participate/assist with rehearsals (assist students, demonstrate musical examples, conduct ensemble as needed)Perform with students during concerts, assemblies, and field tripsLearn, use, and apply technology as required by School to enhance learning, provide feedback to students and parents, and engage with colleagues.
